Facebook has announced a whole new experience for your Android smartphone named as Facebook Home. Facebook Home is actually a new Android launcher, which will make your Android phone completely Facebook focused. The home screen will feature latest posts form your Facebook circle.
Facebook Home will be completely integrate in Android to give you the best Facebook experience.
Facebook Home is been made available for just HTC One and One X, and the Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4 and Note II from the existing smartphones, but HTC and AT& T have announced an all new smartphone that comes inbuilt with complete Facebook Home experience, the ‘HTC First‘. HTC CEO Peter Chou revealed the phone at the Facebook Home event. Choud said, “HTC First will be the ultimate Facebook experience phone”, though he declined to dig into the specs of the smartphone.
HTC First is the first phone that comes pre-loaded with Facebook Home.
The HTC First will be available from April 12 for $99.99, with a two-year contract. First will be available in four colors black, white, red and pale blue and will support AT&T’s 4G LTE network. It will also be the first phone to come pre loaded with Instagram. Those living in the US can pre-order the phone right away. Those living outside the US won’t have to wait long too. Mark Zuckerberg noted that phone will be available in UK soon with Orange and EE.
Facebook and HTC have not revealed the specs of the phone yet, however this is what comes out of the official press release:
- Runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with the new Facebook Home experience
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a dual-core CPU
Looking at these specs, it comes out that it’s a mid ranged Android smartphone equipped with Facebook Home.

Dimensions of HTC One are 125.6 x 64.93 x 8.96mm (4.96 x 2.56x 0.35in). The device is easily portable as it weighs only 124g.
Display and Camera
The 4.3-inch glass display of HTC First offers resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. HTC First features 5MP rear-facing camera with LED flash. This camera is capable of clicking high quality pictures and recording full HD videos of 1080p quality. There is front-facing camera of 1.6MP to do video chat with your buddies.
Processor Operating System and connectivity
HTC First is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with dual-core CPU. The processor is good enough to speed up the device. The Operating System is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, of course, with new Facebook Home experience. Talking about the connectivity, HTC First supports 3G/4G world and multimode LTE. and Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi lets you connect with Internet.
