This is a good answer from HTC to all those critics who were claiming that HTC is no longer interested in mid-range smartphones. As of now, the company has launched it only in Taiwan, but soon, the smartphone will be made available to all HTC fans living outside Taiwan as well. Look-wise, the HTC Desire L follows the typical look of previous smartphones of HTC Desire series. The dimensions of this smartphone are 128*66.9*8.9 mm. The smartphone will hit the shelves in Black and Pink models. Pink HTC Desire L is indeed a unique point here, as this color is rare in the smartphones, especially, the companies don’t debut the device in this color.
HTC Desire L has 4.3-inch LCD2 based WVGA touch screen that offers resolution of 480 x 800 Pixels. Of course, there is not any ‘wow’ factor in the display of HTC Desire L, but it is good enough to enable the smartphone stand good in the mid-range smartphones’ marketplace.
Processor and Operating System
HTC Desire L is powered by 1GHz dual core processor, which offers good processing speed to the users. So, one can expect their favorite games to run smoothly on this mid-range smartphone.
HTC Desire L runs the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The latest Android version, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean would have better version to include in this smartphone. But it may be possible that company will roll out the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean in weeks or months ahead of smartphone’s launch. HTC has a good reputation in sending out software updates to its devices.
HTC Desire L has internal storage capacity of 4GB which is good enough to store your favorite data. microSD card of maximum of 32GB makes the device good for the power users for whom, the 4GB space is not enough. RAM is 1GB.
HTC Desire L has 5MP rear camera that packs the features like Digital Zoom with LED Flash. It does not have any secondary camera.
HTC Desire L supports 3G technology. USB Port 2.0, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPRS and EDGE provide the connectivity options.
Price and Release Date
HTC Desire L would be available for 10,900 New Taiwan Dollars, which is approximately 366 US dollars. It will be available from Far Eastone Telecommunications in Taiwan. There is no official announcement about the release date for the smartphone. It is expected to be available for Taiwanese by the end of this month. Nothing is known about the release date and price of smartphone for the rest of world.
